FAQ

Q. Although I have already moved to Tsukuba and live there, should I go back to my parents’ home in Tokyo?

If you are living here and it does not interfere with your life, you may choose to continue living here. Since there is a risk of infection on the train back to your parents' home, we do not force either option. Your top priority is to ensure that you and those around you are not infected with the new coronavirus, and that you are able to live a mentally and physically healthy life.

Q. Do I have to bring printed registrations of my residence and emergency contact? I am currently living at my parents' home and don't know how to submit them.

You can fill out the files below and submit them by e-mail. Our email address is enclosed in the orientation materials. Please set a password when you send the files by e-mail.

2.How to spend your time until the start of class

As you can see on the university website, the start of the spring semester has been changed to April 27 (Mon.).
Even the in-country movement needs to be minimized to prevent (mainly young) people with mild symptoms from unconsciously spreading the infection to others who are at high risk of serious illness. If you are currently living at a distant place or your parents' home, please stay there still after April 6.
If you are planning to move into the student dormitory, we will keep your belongings at the university and deliver them to your room, so please do not come to the university. If you are planning to move into an apartment, please postpone your move if possible. If it is impossible, please return to your parents' home after the move and stay there. If you have no choice but to live in the student dormitory or an apartment, please refrain from non-essential and non-urgent outings and take good care of your health.
Please be sure to read the following contents, which are official information from the University of Tsukuba.
