Information Technology Area

Information technology supports today’s management science and engineering in various situations as a fundamental technology for e-commerce and business information systems, and as a calculation tool for data analysis and simulations. The Information Technology area provides various courses for learning from the theoretical basis of this fundamental technology to examples of its application in management science and engineering.

Course name Course description Target year
Computer Science Students will learn data structure, algorithms, and fundamentals of computational complexity. Several examples of application on the computer network will be introduced. 2 – 4
Information System
(Equivalent to Information Networks until 2025)
This course introduces the basic structure of information systems and outlines queueing theory and stochastic processes for their mathematical modeling. It also covers system design principles based on model analysis and key topics in network security, including cryptography, authentication, and key management. 2 – 4
Data Analysis Students will learn basic principles of statistics and practice data analysis methods. In addition, they will practice data analysis through specific programing coding. 2 – 4
Machine Learning for Management Machine learning methods useful in business data analysis will be widely picked up and taught, such as linear regression, logistic regression, principal component analysis, clustering methods, regularization, decision trees, support vector machines, deep learning, recommender systems, and reinforcement learning. 2 – 4
