Admissions information

For regular students, there are three admission paths to the College of Policy and Planning Sciences (120 places available): the recommendation-based entrance exam, the first achievement test, and the second achievement test. (For details such as the test subject areas and test schedule, please see the list of application guidelines.)

For the entrance exam for self-funded international students

●Admission Policy:
The university selects applicants with a broad perspective and a strong awareness of issues from among those who have the basic academic ability and Japanese language skills necessary for post-entry study. We will make a comprehensive evaluation based on your interest in social events and issues, your ability to analyze logically and mathematically, and your ability to express yourself.
広い視野を持ち,入学後の学習に必要な基礎学力・日本語能力を備えた志望者の中から,問題意識の高い人材を選抜します.社会の出来事や課題についての関心度,論理的・数理的な分析力,表現能力を総合的に評価します.

Recommendation-based entrance exam

We will select students who have clear ideas about societal problems from among a pool of applicants who demonstrated good study habits at their high schools and who possess the basic abilities necessary for academic work. Candidates are evaluated based on their level of interest in contemporary societal challenges and dynamics, their logical and mathematical analytical skills, and their ability to express ideas in their own words.

●College/school-specific selectionStudents are selected through an evaluation of their foundational knowledge in mathematics and a foreign language, and their understanding of high-school Japanese, social studies, and natural science.

●Joint selectionStudents are selected through an evaluation of their general understanding of high-school subjects, with the emphasis on a foreign language and their area of specialty. Students who passed through the joint selection will belong to a college from the second year on the basis of their wishes, courses taken and grades, etc.

Other entrance exam options

There are other routes of entry: the special entrance exam for the International Baccalaureate, the entrance exam for self-funded international students, and the transfer entrance exam for current students, junior college (prospective) graduates, National Institute of Technology (prospective) graduates, etc.
