Career Pursued after Graduation

The College of Policy and Planning Sciences has produced a total of around 3,000 graduates since 1980.

During the past five years, approximately 43% of its graduates went to graduate schools, 10% found employment in the national government, local autonomous bodies and public corporations, and 47%, in private businesses. Particularly during the past few years, an increasing number of graduates went to graduate schools, and in the private sector, the percentage of graduates who found employment in the communications, computer software and other information-related industries has been on the rise.

Major graduate schools they goes is the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering (Master's Program of Social Systems Engineering, Master's Program of Buisiness Administration & Public Policy, and Doctoral Program in Social Systems & Management).

In public service, graduates found employment in a wide variety of jobs, such as administration, economy, civil engineering and architecture.

Viewing employment in the private sector by major course, it is found that many of the students who majored in Social and Economic Sciences chose financial institutions(especially banks), followed by information-related, distribution, services and other non-manufacturing industries. On the other hand, whereas many of the students who majored in Management Science and Engineering found employment in electric machinery, electronics, information, communications, computer software and other manufacturing industries, as well as information-related companies, those who majored in Urban and Regional Planning found employment in construction, real estate, transport companies and others in urban/regional development industries.
