Admissions

As of April 2007, the College of Policy and Planning Sciences has reorganized and migrated from the Third Cluster of Colleges to the School of Science and Engineering. Click here for the details.

The College of Policy and Planning Sciences is a unique educational organization that cultivates human resources who can use technological methods to analyze social concerns to come up with solutions to those problems.

In the modern society, necessities of scientific solutions to the decision-making process of political measures and plans are highly-publicized in both public sectors (the government and local government) and private sectors (private companies). It is because various social concerns have become complicated and interdependence has increased, causing difficulties to solve them within the traditional theories of individual disciplinary domain.

こThe goal of the College of Policy and Planning Sciences is to cultivate human resources with problem-solving skills as well as decision-making abilities to correspond to these problems.

Entrance examination information

The College of Policy and Planning Sciences offers the educational contents suitable for both students of art courses and the science courses. It is especially recommended for those who are interested in new interdisciplinary area specializing in technological approaches to study the future social concerns. For regular students, there are four admission methods to enroll in the College of Policy and Planning Sciences (120-seat) as described below, including the admission center entrance examination, admission by recommendation, preceding term academic achievement test and later term academic achievement test.

The preceding term academic achievement test mainly focuses on the result of individual test targeting students of science courses and the later term academic achievement test mainly targets students of art courses while the individual test focuses on the result of short essay and the National Center Test for University Admissions. The examination subjects for the National Center Test for University Admissions include five subject areas and seven subjects (one subject of Civics and two subjects of Science) for the preceding term and six subject areas and seven subjects (two subjects of Civics and one subject for Science). Short essay
(Candidates are given with a diagram excerpted from a document related to modern social concerns and movement along with an English article to answer questions related to the matter in an essay style, aiming to observe comprehensive abilities in English as well as logical analytical abilities.)
Other

Other than above, there are privately funded foreign student examination, government-sponsored foreign student examination and semester admission by recommendation for returned students from foreign countries (a few seats), as well as a transfer system for existing students of sophomore and above, junior college graduates (with a graduation letter) and vocational school graduates (with a graduation letter).
