While globalization of corporate activities are advancing, corporate employees are strongly pressed to have macro perspectives to seize corporations to have organic linkage with various organization groups. At the same time, it is necessary not to overlook micro-leveled perspectives to value each and every customer.
At the major in Social and Economic Sciences, I acquired basics of both macro and micro approaches for problem-solving through studies of economics, statistics and psychology. Above all, the greatest assets I obtained from there are lifetime former professors and friends.

First of all, the charms of the College of Policy and Planning Sciences are that students can learn methods of solving various social concerns using technological approaches. For that reason, the curriculums focus on practical works. The problem-solving procedures with a group work and presentations learned through the practice were very useful after the graduation.
I would like people to take opportunities of challenging the College of Policy and Planning Sciences, University of Tsukuba, to learn socio-technological approaches with problem-solving thinking to strive toward goals.

"University of Tsukuba offers great education" – it is a comment I often hear from my friends graduated from other universities after entering the work force.
The field of my occupation is the nation's administrative work. However, perhaps any industry sectors seek people with abilities to construct a series of process on their own to determine and solve problems while considering how to propose these problems, as well as abilities to fulfill the efforts. At the College of Policy and Planning Sciences, courses are designed so that students can acquire these abilities substantially. I can also recommend you the expertise of "social engineering" with confidence. In the modern age, companies engaged in the nation's administrative system (including consultants), even for engineering work, seek after people not only with knowledge of urban planning, but also knowledge of economics and management.

The characteristics of the College of Policy and Planning Sciences are the faculty members and students who have various areas of expertise. I currently go to the Doctoral Programs of Graduate School and the relationship established with friends of different fields while I was in the College of Policy and Planning Sciences serves a useful purpose even now. I am engaged mainly in theoretical studies and for example, I received a beneficial advice from my friend who conducts an experimental study which helped me to advance my own research from a broad viewpoint.
While many graduate student tends to be stuck with certain domain, the networking that I established there has been my valuable and beneficial information source. Speaking from my personal experience, I would like to recommend you to study at the College of Policy and Planning Sciences.

- Major in Management Engineering
- Class of 2003
- Graduates of the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering, University of Tsukuba
At the Major in Management Engineering, students can learn to solve management problems using technological approaches such as computers and mathematics, for example, to cut labor costs by implementing an ordering system for pizza delivery.
Careers after graduation cover versatile fields including information communication, manufacturing, financing and government offices. You will be able to learn how to think smart to do business if you could get onto the management engineering at lectures and use your brain and hands at a practical training. I think it would make you look good, don't you think?

- Major in Urban and Regional Planning
- Class of 1999
- Graduates of the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering, University of Tsukuba
After working at some company for two years, I returned to the University of Tsukuba and joined the Graduates of the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering to study desirable forms of transportation system in the urban spaces. The urban areas consist of various activity accumulations. Here, I employ mathematical approaches to solve problems associated with geometrical spaces using economical thinking.
While advancing my studies, I realized that I receive an enthusiastic chain reaction response that the outcome of what I had learned in class outside of my expertise is starting to exert its effect in addition to the specialized knowledge learned from the College of Policy and Planning Sciences.
